what little girl didn’t dream of being a “Supreme”? Standing in the mirror choreographing all the moves and singing into her microphone (hairbrush). Dreams do come true. I had the opportunity to live the part and meet a legend Mary Wilson, founding member of the most famous female trio in music history the Supremes. Mary took the stage dressed in one of her many elegant gowns donned in long black gloves and plenty of sparkle. She joined forces with Maestro William Henry Curry and the North Carolina Symphony for a celebration of musical favorites from Motown and beyond. Mary’s performance electrified the audience with her vocal range with favorite songs by Sting, Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell and more. The crowd danced, sang, clapped and joined Mary on-stage. This year, the grandmother of 8, will celebrate 50 years in the entertainment industry. Mary isn’t just amazing, she’s smooth as silk……the Quintessential Supreme!
