So, the social media app Snapchat rolled out a new Bob Marley filter and many people are upset and offended. The complaint is that the filter applies dreds and blackface to your photos.
Oh, and they rolled it out on 4/20. You know what THAT means.
A statement from Snapchat to the website Gizmodo reads:
“The lens we launched today was created in partnership with the Bob Marley Estate, and gives people a new way to share their appreciation for Bob Marley and his music. Millions of Snapchatters have enjoyed Bob Marley’s music, and we respect his life and achievements.”
