A Mississippi principal had an 8-year-old girl remove the Black Girls Rock t-shirt that she wore to school because he thought it was inappropriate. The child’s mother says she bought her daughter, Makiyah-Jae, the shirt for self-love purposes. Makiyah-Jae’s mother says at one time the little girl wanted to straighten her hair and dye it blonde because she didn’t like her own appearance.
