Comedian/actor Craig Robinson is everybody’s favorite comedian, including Tom and Jay’s. He stars in a new series, Mr. Robinson, airing Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. on NBC. On the show, where he plays a high school music teacher, he has a band called Nasty Delicious and yup, he’s actually got a band of that name in real life. And the show is based on his real-life experiences as a teacher by day, musician by night in Chicago.

“I have a real life band called Nasty Delicious. Those guys on the stage are my real bad members,” Robinson said. “The guys that wrote the Mr. Robinson put me on my first show. I’ve got my band behind and my real-life brother is on the show.”

Although actor Brandon T. Jackson plays his brother on the show, Robinson’s real-life brother is part of his band on and offscreen.

Talk about keeping the money in the family. Kelsey Grammer’s daughter is on the show as well.

“I got my band on there and my brother is playing bass on the show. He auditioned to be my brother, but he just wasn’t believable,” Robinson jokes.

Meagan Good is on the show as well, playing a teacher Mr. Robinson is crushing on.

“Meagan Good is all that. Of course, she’s married, but it’s a huge blessing an honor to be on a show with Meagan Good,” Robinson says.
