The iconic and legendary actress Viola Davis turns 51 today.
Davis is not only a great actress she’s an inspiration to all. Earning dozens of accolades for her roles, including several Oscar nominations, and listed by Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Her accolades also include four Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Tony Awards, two Critics’ Choice Awards and the first-ever woman of color to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Davis spoke at Radio One Raleigh’s signature event Women’s Empowerment this past April in Raleigh, where she spoke of her upbringing and her struggle.
