Good news for patrons at the 2015 CIAA tournament in Charlotte. The N.C. Attorney General’s Office says it will take legal action against the Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte after the hotel added a 15 percent service charge to customers’ bills during the February Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association basketball tournament. The hotel has since apologized for the service charge, saying it didn’t intend to offend customers and the gratuity was distributed to the servers who worked the event.
Commuters in Rolesville can breathe a sigh of relief. The Roleville by-pass may open for traffic next month. Contractors finishing up some of the work hope to complete by the end of June. The road may open by July 8th.
Yesterday, was a very busy day for the governor of North Carolina. He signed 12 bills into law, among the bills signed, legislation that makes graffiti a criminal offense in North Carolina.
