Many stores will be opening on Turkey Day this year. Some say that the decision by many stores is taking away from time with families. What do you think?
In case you plan on hitting the stores BEFORE Black Friday, here’s the list of area stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day.
Target: Opens 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night and stays open through 11 p.m. Friday night.
Toys ‘R Us: Most stores open at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving evening. Others will open at midnight Friday morning and stay open through 11 p.m.
Belk’s: Opens at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving at Crabtree Valley Mall.
Best Buy: Opens 6 p.m. Thanksgiving evening and stays open through 10 p.m. Friday night.
Wal-Mart: First sale starts at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving evening. Second sale starts at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving evening. As far as I know, and based on past experiences, 24 hour Wal-Mart stores stay open 24 hours, but the sections of the store where they have deals (like electronics) are roped off until the sale starts.
Kmart: Opens 6 a.m. Thanksgiving morning and stays open through 11 p.m. Friday night.
Sears: Opens 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night and stays open through 10 p.m. Friday night.
Macy’s: Opens 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night and stays open through 10 p.m. Friday night.
Old Navy: Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thanksgiving and then back open at 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
J.C. Penney: Opens 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night and stays open through 9 p.m. Friday night.
Kohl’s: Opens 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night and stays open through 10 p.m. Friday night.
Mall Holiday Hours
Crabtree Valley Mall:Hours have not been posted at this time.
Streets at Southpoint: Closed on Thanksgiving day but will open Friday at 6 a.m. and stay open until 10 p.m.
Triangle Town Center: Opens at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving and will stay open until 10 p.m. Black Friday.
Cary Towne Center: Closed but select stores will open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving. The Mall will open at 5 a.m. on Friday and stay open until 10 p.m. Other select stores will open at midnight on Friday.
