The Cosby Show ran for 8 years and finally showed black people on television in a very positive light.  It’s sad, some black people didn’t believe black people could live the way the Huxtable’s did or a black family like them could even exist.  Lets catch up with some of the cast members.

Bill Cosby, “Cliff”.  The 75 year old has been speaking about social issues at schools and universities; he’s also involved with The Jazz Foundation Of America, an organization that helps aid and support musicians.

Phylicia Rashad, “Claire”.  Since The Cosby Show, she has starred on Broadway and became the first African American actress to win a Tony Award; she appeared in Tyler Perry’s For Colored Girls and Lifetime’s Steel Magnolias.

 

Sabrina Le Beauf, “Sondra”.  Performs regularly with the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington D.C.

Lisa Bonet, “Denise”.  After leaving The Cosby Show spinoff, A Different World, Lisa appeared in Enemy Of The State and Biker Boyz; she stars in the drama Road To Panama, scheduled to be released later this year.

Malcolm Jamal Warner, “Theo”.  Malcolm stayed in the public eye by appearing in The Magic School Bus, Malcolm And Eddie, Reed between The Lines (with Tracee Ellis Ross) and currently has a recurring role as Andre Bennett on Community on N.B.C.

Tempest Bledsoe, “Vanessa”.  Currently starring in the N.B.C. sitcom Guys With Kids, with Anthony Anderson and is the hostess of Clean House on Style Network.

Keisha Knight Pulliam “Rudy”.  Most recently co starred on Tyler Perry’s House Of Payne; earlier this year she appeared on the reality show Splash, where celebrities performed extreme dives.

Raven Symone, “Olivia”.  She’s released 2 music albums and has starred in Disney Channel series’, That’s So Raven, Cheetah Girls and Dr. Doolittle; Raven had a short lived series State Of Georgia and in 2012 starred in the Broadway production of Sister Act.

Deon Richmond, “Kenny or Buuud”.  Went on to play the role of Jordan (Tamera’s boyfriend) on Sister Sister; also starred in Scream 3 and Another Teen Movie.

Joseph C. Phillips, “Martin”.  Has been seen on The Parker’s, The Secret Life Of The American Teenager, Without a Trace and the soap opera General Hospital as Justus Ward.

Geoffrey Owens, “Elvin”.  Has been a featured star on the t.v. series Las Vegas, The Secret Life Of The American Teenager and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia; he also teaches acting classes at the H.B. Studios in New York City.

Earle Hyman, “Russell”.  An accomplished actor before The Cosby Show, Mr. Hyman had a recurring role as the voice of Pantho on Thundercats and also on the soap opera All My Children.
