She officially returned to the Good Morning America anchor chair this morning. Roberts was greeted with lots of smiles and well wishes from fans across the country, including the The First Couple.
Mrs. Obama said “we just want you to know that the whole Obama family, we’ve been thinking about you, and praying for you, and rooting for you every step of the way,” and the president chimed in and said “You’ve been an inspiration to all of us and we couldn’t be happier that you’re back here, doing what do you do best.”
Roberts was away from the anchor desk for 174 days and says “Faith, family and friends have brought her me to this moment and I am so full of gratitude… There’s so many people that I want to thank throughout the morning, my doctors and nurses and family and colleagues and people who have sat in the chair and those who have blazed the trail before me.”
