NEW ORLEANS — LeBron James, who has been slowed by a bruised right shin, started Friday night’s game against the undefeated New Orleans Hornets.
James worked with the team during Friday’s hour-long shootaround at New Orleans Arena after sitting out Thursday’s practice in Miami. James left the court Friday with his right leg and knee wrapped in ice bandages.
“He went through the whole shootaround, and he’s feeling better and he’s ready to play,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “If we really needed him, and it wasn’t a back-to-back, he could have practiced yesterday.”
James sustained the injury during Sunday’s victory against New Jersey but remained in the game and also played 32 minutes in Tuesday’s win against Minnesota.
Miami (4-1), winner of four straight, plays Saturday at home against New Jersey.
