Don’t miss the 19th Annual Cary Kwanzaa Celebration 5 p.m. Monday, December 30th at the Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave. The celebration honors African-American culture, and is observed from December 26 to January 1. The seven powerful principles are derived from African heritage, as a means of taking stock, celebrating achievements and entering the future refreshed and renewed. KwanzaaFest features Chuck Davis and the African-American Dance Ensemble in a day of community celebration around Imani, the last day of Kwanzaa that celebrates faith. The event is FREE and open to the public, January 1, 2014, Durham Armory, 220 Foster St. Doors open at 12noon, program begins at 2 pm.
