NEW YORK– John Edwards rejected a plea deal in which he would plead guilty to three misdemeanor charges because it would have put him behind bars for six months, according to a report.
Criminal charges were filed today against John Edwards. The charges stem from a two-year federal investigation into money used to cover up an extramarital affair during the 2008 presidential election. The case contains six counts, including conspiracy, four counts of illegal campaign contributions and one count of false statements.
