Durham Mayor Bill Bell held off challengers in Tuesday’s primary, propelling the heavily favored incumbent into the Nov. 8 elections. Bell captured 80.9 percent of the votes. Bell’s closest challenger was Sylvester Williams with 7.61 percent of the votes. Bell and Williams will now square off in November in the general election.
