Gladys Knight’s son has definitely been kicked off of the Christmas list.

TMZ has revealed that the famous singer’s son attempted to blackmail her by threatening to reveal an alleged Alzheimer’s diagnosis. You may recall that Gladys has been at odds with her son Shanga Hankerson over his chicken and waffles restaurants. The feds raided the businesses that feature Gladys Knight’s name over unpaid taxes. Gladys wanted her name removed and went to court to have it done. Shanga filed documents questioning his mother’s “lack of mental capacity” in her attempt to have her name removed.

Shanga didn’t show up in court in response to Gladys’ lawsuit to remove her name. So, she won her case by default.
According to TMZ, “Gladys says Shanga’s lawyer reached out and put a metaphorical gun to her head: give us more time to respond to the lawsuit, or we’ll go public with your Alzheimer’s diagnosis.”
Gladys has responded by saying the allegations of Alzheimer’s are not true and that her son just wants to embarrass her.
