Donald Trump was making statements about Hillary Clinton during a visit to a Black church in Michigan when he was interrupted by Rev. Faith Green Timmons.
Timmons said, “Mr. Trump, I invited you here to thank us for what we’ve done in Flint, not give a political speech.”
At an earlier point during Trump’s visit, a woman mentioned that Trump and his father had discriminated against Black tenants. According to CNN, this was a reference to the Justice Department’s 1973 civil rights lawsuit against Trump and his father’s landlord practices in New York City. Trump denied the claims when the woman brought them up. Rev. Timmons then said to the woman, “This is my church and you will respect him.”
