State NAACP leaders will hold a march and rally in downtown Raleigh today. They will be joined by marchers from the Journey for Justice, a civil rights group advocating for voters rights in North Carolina.
Two brothers, pardoned for a murder they did not commit received a big pay out from the state. They spent 30 years in prison for the murder of a 11-year old girl. They were cleared of the crime last September.
More than 100 Person County students and teachers were sent home from three schools due to a gastrointestinal outbreak. The cause of the sickness was not immediately known, but the Center for Disease Control and Prevention asked the health department to collect samples from students to use for testing.
