Thousands of college students are headed back to school in the Triangle. About 3,500 new and first-year students will move into campus housing at NC State today and tomorrow. Students at William Peace University, Campbell and Meredith are also moving in this weekend. Students at the UNC move in this weekend as well, and St. Augustine’s, Fayetteville State and Duke move in later next week.
Lenovo is cutting 230 jobs in the Triangle. The CEO says sales of its personal computers tablets and smart phone are struggling.
A Raleigh toddler is safe this morning after he was found wandering around a street at night. A Uber driver working overnight found the child. Police say the parents will not be charged.
Look for traffic changes in downtown Raleigh this weekend. Signs are on place alerting drivers not to make left hand turns onto side roads from Glenwood or Fayetteville streets. The rule will only be enforced from 10pm until 3am Fridays, Saturday and Sundays. The goal is to keep the side roads clear and reduce noise.
