Keep it cold, refrigerate after opening; we’ve seen it on bottles, jars and packaging. Somethings in or out of bottles, jars or packaging shouldn’t go in the fridge.
Coffee; coffee beans lose flavor and absorb odors from other foods in the refrigerator.
Oil; keeping any type of oil in the fridge will cause it to solidify into a butter like consistency.
Hot Sauce; the spices and preservatives that make up hot sauce don’t need to be kept cold.
Unripe Fruit; fruit can’t ripen in the cold small space of a refrigerator.
Basil; it’s leaves will wilt and lose their aroma and flavor if kept cold.
Honey; it’ll crystalize and become a thick mess.
Potatoes; the cold causes starch in the potatoes to turn to sugar, so now you have off flavored gritty taters.
Bread; bread actually dries out in the refrigerator.
Garlic; cloves will begin to sprout if kept in the fridge; they may even become moldy and rubbery.
Onions; moisture from the refrigerator can make onions moldy and mushy; after cutting, place onions in plastic wrap or an airtight bag and put in the crisper.
Tomatos; your refrigerator can turn a nice red, juicy tomato into a flavorless, mealy mess. Leftover tomatoes should be wrapped in plastic and left on the counter.
