On Saturday, January 17, 2015, Durham Parks and Recreation will host an event to commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The celebration will be held at the W. D. Hill Recreation Center (1308 Fayetteville Street, Durham) from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.  The theme is MLK: Remembering the Legacy through the Arts.

There will be a host of activities to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. including visual art displays, poetry, community discussions, live performances, arts and crafts projects and more. The event is free and open to the public.
