The 12th Annual MLK Parade, which is organized by Spectacular Magazine and sponsored by Radio One, will take place in Durham this Saturday at noon. The parade route starts at W.G. Pearson Elementary and ends at North Carolina Central University. This incredible event will be televised and broadcast later on Fox 50.
The theme of this year’s parade is Celebrating Black Women In American Culture. The three grand marshals for this year’s parade are Dr. Fuse-Hall, President of Bennett College, Dr. Saunders-White, Chancellor of North Carolina Central and Dr. Suber, President of Saint Augustine’s University.
We spoke with Dr. Fuse-Hall recently about the effect Black women can have on American culture in 2014 and the women whom Dr. Fuse-Hall believes are currently leaving their mark.
