MONDAY:

*Butner will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday at Soldiers Memorial Sports Arena, 416 24th St. in Butner. Created during World War II in southern Granville County, Camp Butner trained Army soldiers for the war. The speaker is Jim Sansom, an Army veteran who was stationed at Camp Butner for training as a medic in 1942 and fought in World War II including the invasion of Normandy.

*American Legion Post 007 at 406 E. Trinity Ave., Durham, will hold a Veterans Day service at 11 a.m. Monday, with lunch to follow. The community is invited.

TUESDAY:

*Free legal advice is available to veterans by Virtual Justice Project from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the N.C. Central University Law School in the telepresence room. The videoconference will also be show at N.C. A&T, Elizabeth City and Fayetteville state universities.
