Durham has been recognized by Google as one of the seven leading cities in North America for tech start-ups and digital entrepreneurs. Each city has a “tech hub” that houses an innovation ecosystem designed to give entrepreneurs and innovators the best chance of success at the start of their next big, or first thing. The American Underground space will be an inaugural member of the “Google for Entrepreneurs Network” – putting Durham on the map as leading digital innovator.
As part of this network, American Underground will have access to support and resources from Google. The goal of the partnership is to encourage collaboration among the tech hubs. As part of the arrangement Google will offer up its experts to mentor local entrepreneurs and will establish regular communications and meetings between the hubs so entrepreneurs and tech hubs can share lessons learned and best practices.
