Bobby Rogers, one of the founding members of The Miracles (later renamed Smokey Robinson and The Miracles) died yesterday morning in Detroit at age 73. Along with Bill Smokey Robinson, Rogers started The Miracles in 1956; group members included Bobby’s cousin Claudette Rogers, Pete Moore and Ronnie White. Smokey Robinson said “Bobby was my brother and really good friend. We were born on the same day, in the same hospital, about an hour apart. People usually referred to Bobby as the tall one with the glasses”.
