Earth Day – Planet Earth Celebration, Respect Your Mother
Join us for a green Earth Day festival, have fun and learn about the many opportunities for living lightly on the planet. Learn about living sustainably, view exciting models for sustainable buildings and meet some cool green vendors.

Mellow out at the 3rd Annual Planet Earth Celebration as we flashback to the first Earth Day 40 years ago. Get the skinny on Earthly matters and don your bell bottoms. It’s a fun-filled day dedicated to sustainable living. Can you dig it! Throughout the day, we’ll: Celebrate – Locally grown foods from Triangle restaurants and eco-conscious goods at the Burt’s Bees Tent Sale and the Green Bazaar, Educate – Expert advise on greening your home, a sustainable design competition, and eco-tainment from The Traveling Teachers Show, Motivate – Composting demonstrations, “Twister” yoga, and exhibits from The Scrap Exchange and Marbles Kid’s Museum, and Merrymake – A Groovy Getups contest, the annual trash march and live music from The Wusses, Big Fat Gap Band, Countdown Quartet, and Natural Science.
