Guess who will be able to text you whenever they want?!?!? President-Elect Trump!
You know those notifications you receive on your phone about weather or Amber Alerts? The ones with the really shocking beeps designeded to get your attention? Those are Wireless Emergency Alerts. They are part of a the Warning, Alert, and Response Network program that Congress implemented in 2006.
In addition to the warnings about missing people and imminent threats to life or safety, you can receive alerts from the President. And of the 3 types of alerts, the ones from the President are the only ones that can’t be blocked.
