Players from Elon University women’s basketball team, are safe after feeling the effects of 6.2 magnitude earthquake that devastated several towns in central Italy. The team’s coach, Charlotte Smith and her players were in Rome for an “international and cultural learning and playing experience,” when they felt the tremors.

Their flight is still on schedule to leave for the United States later today. The earthquake killed people in the villages of Pescara del Tronto, Accumoli, and Amatrice.
