Virginians and the broadcast industry are mourning the passing of civil rights icon, advocate, and ‘do–er’ radio and television host for justice. He spoke up and out about the injustices in our communities from youth discrimination to voter suppression .Mr. Gravely had a long running radio show called the Jack Gravely Show; it was straight talk with new chaser.  He will be missed. King Salim Khalfani, former executive director of the Virginia Conference NAACP shared some fond memories of Gravely and his fight for justice. Khalfani was hired in the NAACP when Mr. Gravely was president.  Khalfani said, that Jack Gravely was in the first class of blacks to finish the University of Virginia Law School but was not allowed to pass the state bar.

Mr. Khalfani challenged us all to support our communities if we love Jack Gravely. Play audio here….
