March Madness is here and workers around the country will be paying more attention to their brackets than their work. According to an annual report from Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc., factor in online streaming of games, with constant checking of brackets, television watching businesses lose $4 billion in productivity.

Many small businesses have found its beneficial to let staffers watch the games, one company in Raleigh turns the NCAA into a party for the workers.

Workers have a “Jones” for the love of basketball especially in North Carolina. First round action in Raleigh gets underway at the PNC arena today. Tip-off for the first game is at 12:40 p.m. The Tar Heels will take on Florida Gulf Coast in Raleigh shortly after 7 p.m. this evening.
