106-year old Virginia McLaurin’s life hasn’t been easy. She lived to see two world wars and the height of racial segregation.
In 2014, McLaurin submitted a petition to the White House asking to meet with the president. She’s so full of life and proud of her country, and excited she lived to see what as a young girl, was probably told would never happen in this country, an opportunity to meet the President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama in the Oval office.

When asked about her longevity she credits, “reading the Bible and praying daily, loving Jesus Christ, and my fellow-man”.
