Evelyn Lozada wants a reboot. Her new show ‘Living Lozada’ on OWN is her way of changing the image of a combative, negative personality that once served her well on Basketball Wives.

Now that she’s a mother again, to Leo, 1, with Carl Crawford of the Los Angeles Dodgers, she wants people to see that’s she not the woman she’s been perceived to be.

“I’m back to reality television but in a positive way,” she says. “I want to really give women hope [and] to show them that life can be pretty good after you leave a domestic violence situation. And you get to see me as a mom after 21 years and see my relationship with my daughter.”

Lozada was once married to ex-NFL player Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson. The two had a fast courtship and marriage that seemed as much for their joint reality show as it was for love. But that show never happened as the two broke up after an argument turned into a head-butting incident that left Lozada injured and requiring stitches. The couple divorced soon after.

Lozada says that appearing on another OWN show Iyanla Fix My Life really helped her redirect.

“I had no idea what I was walking into but it was really a blessing and she helped me so, so much to help me see things that were going on in myself. I was a fatherless daughter and I had anger issues. I was like I need to fix all of that. I was always like let me pay attention to this woman because she knows what she’s talking about.’

As for her relationship with Crawford, the 33-year-old Houston native who’s a  leftfielder for the Dodgers, Lozada says she’s happy. (He makes $20 million a year, which could certainly help).

“I’ve been in a relationship now for over two years. We have such a cool, healthy relationship. I’m not going to sit up here and say we have a perfect relationship, because I don’t think anything in life is perfect. But we love each other and respect each other and we have a cool thing going.”

Lozada says they were set up and at first she was hesitant, but she went ahead anyway and is glad she did.

“He did film here and there on the show, but he’s not trying to be on a reality show. He’s like that’s your thing and I respect it, but he really doesn’t understand my world. He plays baseball but he doesn’t want to be filming the Living Lozada show and his schedule is crazy.”

As for her noted temper, will you see her pop off on someone on this reality show go-round?

“Um, no,” she says. “I don’t have the energy for it anymore.”
