According to NBC, Dylan Roof confessed to the murders that took place Wednesday night at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston.
Roof has been charged with 9 counts of murder and 1 weapon charge, according to NBC News. He is expected at a bond hearing via closed circuit television at 2 p.m. ET Friday.
Roof, 21, has told police that he “almost didn’t go through with it because everyone was so nice to him,” sources told NBC News.
