The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a HEAT ADVISORY from noon to 7p.m. this evening. Expect temperatures in the upper 90’s to near 102 with a HEAT INDEX up to 109. The hottest temperatures and highest heat indices are expected during the afternoon and early evening hours Monday.

The heat and humidity can create hazardous outdoor conditions. Outdoor activities should be scheduled for cooler condition during the morning or late evening hours.

Children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. A car’s interior can reach deadly temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Drink plenty of fluids and stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sunshine and most importantly check in on relatives and neighbors.
