This project was inspired by the very successful effort of 27 African-American business leaders in New York City to send 27,000 middle school students to see the movie Selma. The response has been overwhelming with over 60,000 NYC students responding to the offer of 27,000 free tickets.
Due to the generous contributions by so many of the country’s most prominent African-American business leaders in over 25 cities including Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New Orleans and Atlanta, more than 275,000 middle and high school students across the U.S. will experience this special film for free at participating theaters. |
