As a Durhamite, I can give you a zillion reasons that people should chill with hating on my home city. Instead, I will quote stats from the Triangle Business Journal.
Apparently, people in Durham get more sleep than anyone in the country. An alarm clock app company noted that people from Durham average 7 hours, 9 minutes in bed each night – one minute more than the national average. Durham’s average bed time is 12:04 a.m., 11 minutes later than the national average. And the average wake-up time is 7:28 a.m., 5 minutes later than the national average. This means that Durham people are MORE WELL RESTED than everyone else.
Also, people from Durham workout more according to Sleep Cycle, the same app company mentioned before. The app company puts Durham at the top for “Most Daily Workouts,” beating Tampa, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Cleveland. Triangle Business Journal says the app company has 2 million users.
