Fmr Gov McDonnell Says Marriage “On Hold” To Fmr First Lady

Former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell took the stand again in his corruption trial in Richmond. McDonnell said his marriage to the former First Lady of Virginia is quote “on hold.” During his second day of court testimony Thursday, McDonnell said he and his wife no longer live together and he is actually residing at the rectory at Saint Patrick’s Church in Richmond, VA. McDonnell went on testify that he does not have the “emotional ability to go home and revisit things every night with Maureen” while their trial for corruption charges continues in federal court.
McDonnell testified that his marriage is falling apart but said he did not believe his wife, Maureen, had a physical relationship with the former Star Scientific CEO Johnnie Williams. McDonnell admitted that he was quite shocked to learn of the closeness that the former first lady and Williams who gave the first family lots of gifts and loans were becoming.
