The groundhog saw his shadow this morning, so we’ll get 6 more weeks of WINTER……or will we? The legend says if the groundhog “Punxsutawney Phil” see his shadow, winter will last another 6 weeks; if he doesn’t see his shadow, we’ll have an early spring. The reality is, a group called The Inner Circle determines the outcome ahead of time. So how accurate is the prediction, real or otherwise? The National Climatic Data Center has kept a record of Groundhog Day predictions and in their words, the predictions have been “sorely lacking”.
