Are you a veteran in need of some assistance? The Durham Outreach Focus provides the following:
*Provide intensive services (assessment of education, skills, and abilities, career coaching, and individual employment plans) to disabled and non-disabled veterans to help overcome employment barriers.
*Job search assistance: Help determine employment skills, update job skills in JobConnector database, provide information on job search engines, and provide assistance with applying for jobs online.
*Resume assistance: Provide assistance with resume writing, job skills, and job descriptions.
*Provide referral information to assist veterans with benefits, job skills, computer skills, personal needs, shelters, education,
*Conduct outreach to employers: advocate on behalf of veterans for employment and training opportunities with business, industry, and community-based organizations
*Gold Card Services available for Post 9/11 Era Veterans. Provides intensive services for up to six months. Intensive services include, case management, skills assessment and interest surveys, career guidance and job search assistance.
