Eight people were arrested at Enloe High School in Raleigh Thursday, the same day the principal alerted parents of an increase in security due to year-end pranks, according to WNCN.

Enloe increased on campus security after administration heard rumors of students planning pranks for Thursday.

Enloe Principal Scott Lyons stated in a recorded message to parents that the administration of the school obtained information about students planning pranks for Thursday.

Six of the arrested were charged with disorderly conduct.

  • Roderick Elliott Hodge Jr., 16, of Raleigh
  • Kelton Treyquan Hines, 16, of Knightdale
  • Christopher Montrell Coward, 17, of Raleigh
  • Robert Edward Brown, 16, of Raleigh
  • Damarcus Nathaniel Cole, 16, of Raleigh
  • Deonte Rodricus Ward, 16, of Raleigh

A 17-year-old Enloe student, Justin Devon Mangum, was arrested and charged with assault and battery.

Raleigh police arrested 38-year-old Kevin Antrone Hines, of Apex, on school grounds. Hines faces one count of second-degree trespassing.

These pranks included tossing balloons filled with water and other substances, according to the message.

In response, Enloe notified Wake County Public School System and the school resource officer. The Raleigh Police Department increased their presence on campus as a precautionary measure.

Lyons continued by saying any misconduct will be investigated with appropriate disciplinary action taken.

The principal encouraged the audience to review student code of conduct for Enloe.
