Capitol police have blocked off several streets in downtown Raleigh as they investigate a suspicious package in a mailbox, state authorities said Wednesday morning.
Several people trying mail letters found a package stuck in the slot in a mailbox on North Street, near Wilmington Street, said Patty McQuillan, spokeswoman for the state Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.
