Cinderella2013

Of all of the princesses, I think most women can relate to Cinderella most of all. We’ve all felt like her one time or another in our lives. And if you are a fan like I am, you probably know all of the songs from Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. You know Rogers & Hammerstein; they wrote the classic musicals like The Sound of Music and The King and I. Got to love them!

If you think you’ve seen this version of Cinderella, you are wrong. It’s not the 1997 version with Brandy & Whitney Houston. This version is a combination of The Glass Slipper (starring Leslie Carson), Ever After (starring Drew Barrymore) and Ella (starring Ann Hathaway) with the Rogers & Hammerstein as the main story. This play has lots of twist and turns that will keep you wanting more. Oh, and the special effects are breath taking!

Since I can’t get to New York to see it on Broadway with Sherri Shepard and KeKe Palmer, seeing at the DPAC is just as good…if not better. I don’t have to pay for a hotel, I sleep in my own bed and the DPAC has no bad seats. It’s a Win-Win in my book.

I loved every minute of the show from the first note to the last. I found myself singing along with Cinderella, the Prince, and the Step Sisters. I was in heaven. This is a great family show. If you have a little girl 6 and older who loves princesses or you are an adult who loves them like I do, then this is the play for you! I’m still humming…. “In my own little corner, in my own little chair”. You have until Sunday, November 23rd to see this amazing story of the Ella the little ‘cinder’ girl!

Recommended for all audiences including couples, parents, grandparents and kids alike (ages 6 and above)
