North Carolina Targets Speeding Drivers In Statewide Campaign
Slow Down
North Carolina has launched a new weeklong traffic safety initiative aimed at curbing speeding and aggressive driving. The campaign, titled “Speeding Catches Up With You,” began Monday and will run through Sunday.
Led by the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program in partnership with law enforcement agencies across the state, the campaign is focused on reducing traffic injuries and fatalities.
Drivers should expect to see an increased presence of state troopers and local law enforcement officers on highways and roads throughout the week. The primary focus will be identifying and stopping drivers who are exceeding the speed limit or operating vehicles aggressively.
Motorists are urged to follow these safety tips:
- Always obey posted speed limits
- Allow extra time for travel
- Stay alert and minimize distractions
- Never drive under the influence
- Always wear a seat belt
The message is clear: slowing down can save lives—yours and others’.
