Cary Police continue to search for a shooter after the town’s first murder since 2008.
Early Saturday morning, police responded to The Grove at Cary Park apartments. That’s where they found Jibrael Menelik, 28, of Apex, who was found shot in the breezeway of the 700 apartment building. Menelik was taken to Duke University Medical Center where he later died.
Capt. Michael Williams with the Cary Police Department said they’re not sure if the crime was random. “We do not know. We do know there was some type of interaction, we just don’t know what the foundation of that interaction was,” he said.
