Update: Chili’s has issued an apology to Ernest Walker and removed the manager from the restaurant, according to ABC11.
This past Friday, a Black veteran, Ernest Walker, was questioned about the authenticity of his military service by a Chili’s manager. On Veteran’s Day, Chili’s was giving out free meals to veterans. The manager questioned Walker’s service, the status of the his service dog and took Walker’s free meal away from him.
This all occurred after a white customer accused Walker of not being a veteran.
Walker recorded his encounter with the manager at Chili’s and posted it on Facebook.
