Actor Samuel L. Jackson will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at Sunday’s BET Awards this weekend. Jackson, debut in the 1972 movie, “Together for Days”, and is best noted for his work in several Quentin Tarantino films: The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained and Pulp Fiction. Catch the talented no-nonsense actor this summer in The Legend of Tarzan, and Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children later this year.

“I’m humbled to be recognized by my peers and to join the company of the exemplary recipients before me”.

The BET Awards will be hosted by Black-ish stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, and include performances by Usher, Future, Bryson Tiller, Alicia Keys, and Maxwell to name a few. The highlight of the evening, the highly anticipated Prince Tribute with performances by Sheila E., The Roots, D’Angelo and Janelle Monae.

The BET awards air this Sunday at 8 ET.
