Calling on all NC HBCU students and alumni to participate in rally in response to SB873.

NC Senate Bill 873 poses a threat to North Carolina HBCUs and their legacy. Join Radio One Radio, and host of NewsOneNow Roland Martin, at a press conference and rally at Halifax mall, N.C. Legislative office building 1:30pm til 2:30 Wednesday June 1st. The press conference begins at 1pm at the legislative press room.

The proposal, titled the “Access to Affordable College Education Act,” would slash tuition to $500 per semester for in-state students at five campuses in the University of North Carolina system: Fayetteville State University, Elizabeth City State University, Winston-Salem State University, Western Carolina University and UNC-Pembroke. Three of the five schools are historically black colleges and university’s. Opponents of the proposed legislation say it court hurt the schools.
