Today, Grammy Award-Winning artist Maxwell turns 43, and like a fine wine, he gets better and sexier with time. The critically acclaimed musician and singer is often described as an introvert, a persona and mystic that has intrigued fans for years.
My first encountered with the “Pretty Wings” singer was at an industry convention in 1995. He wore a huge Afro and rather shy, but later that evening, when he hit the stage to perform songs from the Urban Hang Suite album. Maxwell took on a whole new personae, his voice was one of smoothest and sexiest I’ve heard in a long time.
He’s been off the grid for nearly seven years, during that time he’s stayed true to his musical roots. This past year, Maxwell teased fans on social media about the first single, “Lake By The Ocean,” and the release date of the highly anticipated new album blackSUMMERS’night, coming out July 1st.
