Fifteen-year-old Monique Tillman was riding her bike through a Tacoma, Washington mall parking lot in 2014 when she was stopped, thrown to the ground and tased by an off-duty police officer. She was later arrested. So was her brother, who can be seen in the video.

According to Tillman, she and her brother had dropped off clothes at a consignment shop, eaten at McDonald’s and then cut through the mall parking lot on their way home. She was stopped by a police officer who said she was causing a disturbance. Tillman was charged with resisting arrest and assaulting an officer. A judge dropped these charges after viewing the security camera video.

After seeing the video two years later, now seventeen-year-old Tillman is suing the police officer, the security firm that hired him and the owners of the mall.
