Ambassador Andrew Young talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show reflects about his friend, the late Martin Luther King, Jr.

How he’s celebrating King Day:

“I’m at Michigan State which is one of the places that Dr. King spoke. I served as an honorary professor here after I left the UN and they invited me back up.

What does he tell young men in prison about keeping Dr. King’s legacy alive?

“I remind them that half of the books Paul wrote in the Bible are from jail. And that Mandela was in jail and never let it break his spirit.”

Just how much is there left to do?

“Dr. King was talking about redeeming racism and poverty. It’s the poverty part, if there had been good education, all of these young men would be successful.”
