Up until this point, the prosecutor has refused to release the body cam video the captured the event without a court order.  He has said that he wanted to wait until it was seen by a grand jury.

“Unless I’m ordered to by the Ohio Supreme Court, and I doubt I will be, they’re not going to get it,” Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters has said.

Cincinnati’s police chief said he had seen the video, and he said “the video is not good.”

As of this morning, reports indicate that the video will be released today. The University of Cincinnati has canceled classes in anticipation of community response upon release of the video.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich said there is concern for Cincinnati at the state level.

“We have to see what the results are,” Kasich said. I don’t get in the middle of court cases. I’m concerned about all our communities and all our urban areas.”

“We are prepared. We are as prepared as we can be.”
