FBI: No Cyber Attacks Just System Glitches at NYSE, United & WSJ
Was it just a coincidence?
FBI Director James Comey says there is nothing to link cyber attacks to major glitches involving the New York Stock Exchange, United Airlines and the ‘Wall Street Journal’ today. Trading was halted for more than three hours by what the Exchange called a technical problem.
During a Senate hearing today, Comey said that he does not normally believe in coincidences but he said the three events appear to have been unrelated. He blamed high website traffic on the “Journal’s” crash, and system glitches at the Exchange and United Airlines.
